Having a noggin full of knowledge has it’s pluses and minuses– \u00a0On one hand, I have a wealth of knowledge that I can use to help others achieve their goals; \u00a0it also helps that this knowledge helps\u00a0me<\/em> reach my goals.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, though, I have to deal with a lot of strange questions, and people that don’t actually want to hear the answer.<\/p>\n

The Basics<\/strong><\/p>\n

When it comes down to it, you can think of everything relating to health, fitness, and nutrition in terms of Occam’s Razor: \u00a0The simplest explanation is often the correct explanation.<\/p>\n

How does that apply?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here’s the topic I field the most questions about: weight loss. \u00a0Everyone wants to complicate the matter into what foods to eat, when to eat, how to eat, why to eat, where to eat, and so on– \u00a0There are countless diet books, detox diets, and other strange things that serve as methods to glean money from your pockets and give you false hope.<\/p>\n

I can’t tell you how many people ask me for advice on fat loss; \u00a0if a particular supplement “works;” \u00a0if a certain diet “works;” and so on and so forth. \u00a0Here’s one of my favorites: \u00a0Someone asked me what the best workout for a “six pack” is– \u00a0My response: \u00a0To reveal your abdominal muscles, you must reduce your body fat through proper nutrition.<\/p>\n

They never talked to me on the subject again.<\/p>\n

So what’s your point?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before asking someone for help, ask yourself a question: \u00a0Are you ready to hear the correct answer, or are you looking for someone to give you a “sexy” answer? \u00a0If you want a sexy answer, you’re really not ready to ask the question. . .<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
