are, this is a joke. . .\u00a0 This is not an actual anatomy lesson, but rather, one of those warnings on how to not be &#8220;that guy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever seen someone in the gym training biceps, exclusively, for 45 minutes?\u00a0 Have you talked to someone who says all they work for lower body is calves?\u00a0 How about the guy who devotes 20 minutes to <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/WristFlexors\/BBWristCurl.html\" target=\"_blank\">wrist curls<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/WristExtensors\/BBReverseWristCurl.html\" target=\"_blank\">reverse wrist curls<\/a>?\u00a0 These are examples of people who only work their vanity muscles.\u00a0 Vanity Muscles are comprised only of muscles that you can see while wearing a T-Shirt and Shorts:\u00a0 Forearms, Biceps, and Calves.\u00a0 Some people include Chest and Shoulders in the grouping, but your typical Vanity lifter won&#8217;t care about these muscle groups, and most people don&#8217;t include these muscles either.<\/p>\n<p>So, why do people work only their vanity muscles?\u00a0 For the very reason that they are vanity muscles. . .\u00a0 It&#8217;s the mentality of, &#8220;Why work muscles that no one will see?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Well, here&#8217;s why:\u00a0 If you only work those muscles, eventually, you&#8217;re going to come to a place where you look out of proportion.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_298\" style=\"width: 98px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/gahealthguide.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/02\/youngherc.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-298\" class=\"size-full wp-image-298\" title=\"Young Hercules\" src=\"http:\/\/gahealthguide.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/02\/youngherc.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"88\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-298\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hercules focused a lot on calves and forearms early in his career.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On top of that, your gains will come a lot slower compared to a normal weight lifter \/ body builder.\u00a0 What most people don&#8217;t realize is that compound lifts do a lot for muscle growth all over your body&#8211;\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/ErectorSpinae\/BBDeadlift.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dead Lifts<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/GluteusMaximus\/BBSquat.html\" target=\"_blank\">Squats<\/a>, and other compound lifts release a lot of testosterone, which is necessary for muscle growth.\u00a0 If you spend all day doing <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/Biceps\/BBCurl.html\" target=\"_blank\">Bicep Curls<\/a>, you are robbing yourself of the opportunity to release some great, muscle building testosterone.\u00a0 This is the source of the old bodybuilding adage, &#8220;If you want bigger biceps, <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/ErectorSpinae\/BBDeadlift.html\" target=\"_blank\">dead lift<\/a> [and \/ or <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/GluteusMaximus\/BBSquat.html\" target=\"_blank\">squat<\/a>] more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Besides. . .\u00a0 Why would you spend a day working forearms when your <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/ErectorSpinae\/BBDeadlift.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dead Lift<\/a> will give you stronger forearms?\u00a0 Or, why spend a day doing <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/Biceps\/BBCurl.html\" target=\"_blank\">Bicep Curls<\/a> when your <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/BackGeneral\/BBBentOverRow.html\" target=\"_blank\">Bent Over Rows<\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/LatissimusDorsi\/CBFrontPulldown.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lat Pull Down<\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/exrx.net\/WeightExercises\/LatissimusDorsi\/BWPullup.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pull Ups<\/a> will work your Biceps?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obviously, especially to those who know what &#8220;Vanity Muscles&#8221;
