{"id":1079,"date":"2014-07-13T09:00:08","date_gmt":"2014-07-13T16:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/devinephysiques.com\/blog\/?p=1079"},"modified":"2014-07-15T06:59:32","modified_gmt":"2014-07-15T13:59:32","slug":"it-can-be-difficult-for-me-too","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devinephysiques.com\/blog\/2014\/07\/13\/it-can-be-difficult-for-me-too\/","title":{"rendered":"It can be difficult for me too!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, I was checking in with an online training client with some of my usual queries: How is your nutrition, training, etc.? \u00a0At the end of their response, they asked me how my training was going.<\/p>\n<p>I appreciated the thought, but more than anything, I was happy to be ale to share something with them&#8211; \u00a0I&#8217;ve had clients, family, and friends comment on my dedication to working out as if I never have issues with motivation. \u00a0I&#8217;ve also been told that I don&#8217;t understand motivation issues.<\/p>\n<p>But, I do; and lately, I know them very well.<\/p>\n<p>For the last few weeks, I have had some serious motivation issues with my training. \u00a0I find myself toying with the idea of skipping workouts; I&#8217;ve found myself putting off my workouts; I&#8217;ve considered scaling back the intensity; During a few workouts I&#8217;ve cut out a set; In one particular case, I had to basically force myself to start\u00a0my warm up and train.<\/p>\n<p>Life is stressful&#8211; \u00a0Between work, school, studying for a\u00a0nutrition certification, contest prep for my show, acting in a web series, and everything else I have going on, it\u00a0has definitely worn me down. \u00a0Somehow, though, I manage to keep myself in the gym and compliant on my nutrition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The point of this post?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m writing this\u00a0to tell you that motivation issues are normal, and that I know exactly how difficult this journey can be. \u00a0I&#8217;m right there alongside everyone else in struggling to maintain a healthy lifestyle. \u00a0It&#8217;s not limited to me either&#8211; \u00a0You&#8217;ll find that even professional athletes, professional physique competitors, amateur physique competitors, etc.\u00a0have regular struggles with staying on their nutrition, or staying motivated in the gym.<\/p>\n<p>Staying as consistent as possible, and trying to find motivation every day can be difficult, but they&#8217;re necessary; and hopefully, you have someone in your life that can help you maintain that!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What can you do about motivation issues?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no real solution for motivation issues. \u00a0Usually I try and tell people to find the root of the issue&#8211; \u00a0Often it can be something like sitting down after a long day when you should have gone directly the gym. \u00a0Other times it&#8217;s a sort of response that occurs after deviating from your nutrition plan. \u00a0Getting the root of the problem can often do the trick. \u00a0For me, personally, I just remind myself of how I&#8217;ll feel if I don&#8217;t train vs. if I do.
